Shelley McKernan has been in love with the sea since childhood. Daughter of a career Coast Guardsman, she traveled and lived in many coastal cities: her favorite was Key West.
She graduated from Saint Mary’s College in 2004 with a business degree and has worked in construction and real estate for 10 years.
In 2013 she started working with raw food Chef Ani Phyo and created "Shelley’s Lellow" a raw vegan company specializing in plant-based "sushi". However Sea Shelley - as she is known to friends -, is a mermaid at heart. Her passion for the arts, wellness, sustainability, eco-lifestyle, and ocean conservation drive her inspiration for sea art.
By using raw nature in every creation, she hopes to spark a dialogue about ocean conservation and the environment.

In order for our species to flourish, we must do one thing: respect all life around us. It is my mission to inspire anyone who wants to be inspired, kind, and open to positive growth. I personally believe in continuously working towards the wellness of the body, mind, and spirit. To live each day as clean as you can, as best as you can, and not be afraid of a challenge.
